Criminal Profiling Topic of the Day: I Read it on the Internet: Superbike Murders - Part Three

Note: The phrase "I read it on the Internet" is included in this original post because at the time it was written, Sheriff Wright had claimed I never worked with the department and everything I know of the case "I read on the Internet." Clearly, I did NOT get my information from the Internet but from police files but if Wright was willing to make that statement, I was willing to write exactly what "I read on the Internet."

This is my third and final post on the Superbike quadruple homicides that took place in Chesnee, South Carolina in 2003. I will be discussing persons-on-interest and how the evidence in the murders supports taking a stronger look at some of them and doesn't support overfocusing on certain persons to the exclusion of better suspects.

Before I begin this discussion of what I read on the Internet concerning certain persons-of-interest, I want to state that nothing I am putting forth here is any accusation of guilt; no one has been proven to have committed these crimes and they are innocent in the eyes of the law until proven otherwise in a court of law. However, if certain people behaved in certain ways and said certain things that are concerning, then it is not unreasonable to expect that the investigators from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department should have properly and thoroughly investigated these persons, which, from what I read on the Internet, they did not.

There are three main persons-of-interest in the Superbike murders. As in all crimes, the last person to see the victims alive, the first person to see them dead, and anyone who might have had access to the scene in between those times are the persons-of-interest and each needs to be investigated and eliminated.

I want to start with the least likely person-of-interest in these crimes which is the man in the composite the Sheriff's Department has been dogging for almost nine years, claiming straight out that he is involved in the homicides. First of all, from everything I read on the Internet, there is not one shred of evidence linking this unknown man, this customer who was not the last person in the business before the homicides, to the crimes. There is no unknown DNA or fingerprints that can be linked to anyone, so no match is ever going to pop up in CODIS linking some felon to the Superbike murders. Unless this man one day is arrested for the commission of another crime and a firearm is found on his person or in his car or apartment that matches the ballistics in these homicides, then this avenue is pretty much worthless. The only other possibility is that someone rats him out, a warrant is gotten, and the detectives find the gun at his residence. Could it happen? Sure. Not likely, but I am all for a miracle.

Problem is, the man in the composite is the least likely of the three persons-of-interest to have committed the crime. Why? First of all, it is blatantly stupid and hard to believe that this man would go to the business, spend a relatively long time chatting with the people there, sit on a motorcycle, and let all the other customers see his face if he were planning to blow everyone away that day. Furthermore, why would he leave the business and come back to kill everyone? Why not hang around until there were no customers were there or just kill a customer or two if you are psychopathic enough to blow away the others? And since you have let someone see your face, the customer who inspired the composite, why not just kill that man so you don't have a witness left behind to identify you? I find the unknown customer in the composite a red herring of a lead that, yes, should have been followed up but he would not be my top choice of focus.

Let's back up to the last person who was in the business before the murders went down. As I read on the Internet, he was a reasonable person-of-interest and he has not been entirely eliminated. The best reason to look at him was the simple fact he was there right before it all went down and, if he killed everyone and drove off, there would be no witnesses to say it was him. However, his credit card was swiped right before he left, so he would have to be a blazing idiot or extremely angry. Now, the first he was not from what I have read on the Internet; the second was possible. He was a bit annoyed with the shop that day. And, because of this, he needed to be eliminated as a suspect. As I read on the Internet, he certainly had firearms and he refused to take a polygraph. However, it seems, he might have an excellent alibi. As I read on the Internet, his truck was seen going by a convenience store in a video with a time stamp on it that was only two minutes after the last shot was fired. That shot was made at 2:52 pm and his truck was seen  going by at 2:54 pm. Now, the drive from the shop to the store is 4.2 miles and supposedly takes eleven minutes according to Google. I test drove that road in a sports car and I was able to cut the time in half.

I was unable to learn from the stuff I read on the Internet whether the detectives had double-checked the accuracy of the clock associated with the video; if the time was off by a few minutes, this could disqualify the alibi of the last customer. However, the time would have to be quite a bit off because it took me around five minutes to drive like a hellion in a small sports car and I had to time leaving the parking lot just before I saw a car coming, so I could pull out in front of it and hope to get a clear road all the way to the store with no slow boat in front of me or anyone pulling on to the road and ruining my speedy run. In fact, it took me a dozen runs to get lucky enough to have no traffic impede me and get my speed down to five minutes. The last customer/person-of-interest was driving an old truck which was pulling a motorcycle, so unless the clock was seriously off (by at least five or six minutes), there is no way he could have made it down the road that quickly. However, the clock should still have been checked so that this man could have been solidly eliminated as a suspect and he wasn't.

Although this would be my second-in-line person-of-interest, I think his alibi could hold, the credit card swipe with his name makes it rather unlikely that he would then commit the homicides, and, although he was a bit annoyed, there is nothing in particular that makes me think he had enough motive to kill everyone there, starting with Beverly Guy.

Now, to my Number One person-of-interest, Noel Lee. Again, I will state that I have no proof from what I read on the Internet that there is evidence to arrest and convict this man. He is only a person-of-interest to me and, in the eyes of the Sheriff's Department, not a person-of-interest at all. How this can be mystifies me. Even if he is innocent of the crime, he should have been investigated and eliminated because he was, as I read on the Internet and you can actually read this on the Internet and even see him say so in Geraldo's video, that he was the one to discover the bodies and make the 911 call. The only reason I mention his name here is because he willingly did so with his appearance on television which means he was not attempting to keep his identity a secret.

The first reason Noel Lee must be a person-of-interest is because he was the one to discover the bodies. As we have seen in many crimes, often the perpetrator shows up on the scene to "find the bodies" because that way. he can have an excuse for being seen there in case he was indeed seen there (or his vehicle was seen there or in the area) and, if he is worried his fingerprints are there or he has blood on his clothing, he can say he touched things when he arrived or he touched the bodies in an attempt to check on their condition or do CPR. To be clear, from what I read on the Internet, Noel Lee, who discovered the bodies, did not have blood on his person or clothing and he did not touch the bodies. He only touched the phone in the business and there is no information available as to whether his fingerprints were found anywhere (supposedly only the fingerprints of the victims were found which is a bit odd considering this is a place full of customers). However, it is unlikely the killer touched anything anyway as this all went down very quickly. The only  places he might have touched would have been the outside door and the swinging doors between the front showroom and the back work area. He may have been wearing gloves.

The second reason Noel Lee should be a person-of-interest is because he has no alibi that I know of (from what I read on the Internet). He phoned the business from his home phone and spoke to Beverly Guy about picking up some tickets. As I read on the Internet, that call was placed at 2:25 pm. The shootings took place around 2:50 pm with the last shot being fired at 2:52 pm. Lee placed the 911 call at 3:12.

Noel Lee's home is 11.4 miles from the shop. Again, Google states a rather slow drive with nearly thirty minutes required. Considering I halved the drive to the convenience store in my sports car, I find it highly likely Lee could drive the distance to the shop in his BMW in half that time or less considering he states, as I read on the Internet, that there were no other cars at all on the road on his way to the shop. If he left the house directly after hanging up the phone, he could have been in the store by the time the shootings went down.

From what I read on the Internet, Noel Lee's story changes from his first to his second interview and he says a number of things which are rather peculiar and raise red flags; this is another reason he should have been looked at more closely.

As I read on the Internet:

In his first interview he states: He tells Beverly Guy he is on his way to pick up the tickets, arrives at the store, and thinks his friends are playing a joke on him by lying in blood on the sidewalk in front of the store; then he stated, "I’m calling 911 and immediately went to the phone inside the front show room on the wall and called 911. She asked me if they was anybody down and I told her I see his mom down in the back showroom and she said is there anybody else down? I said I don’t know. I’m not walking into the back of this place. She said well go back outside and wait on 911 to arrive. So I walked back out front and waited on you guys to get here." He also states he hadn't been around the business within the last two weeks.

In his second interview, two years later, he states: " For some strange reason, I decided to take a shower instead of just throwing my clothes on and going up there." And he is talking to his girlfriend the entire time while he is driving. In fact, she tells him not to call 911 from across the street (or to use his cell phone) but tells him to go inside the business (where the killer might still be) to make the phone call. He claims she told him that "if you leave and somebody sees you leave, they are going to think you did it." So he steps over his friend's body that is blocking the door and goes in to make the 911 call. This time he claims he said something totally different to the operator, "I said I need to go see if the fourth person is here because they were normally four people here and she said do not go into that back room because you do not know who else is there." He also states he was at the business the previous weekend.

From what I read on the Internet, Lee states that he went inside without a gun because he wasn't thinking and thought if he could get help there quickly, he could save their lives. Yet, in his 911 call, he doesn't get around very quickly to requesting medical assistance; in fact, his whole demeanor is rather breezy. He also states that he looked to see if Brian Lucas's chest was moving up and down and he was going to give him CPR. Apparently, he never does and he says he never saw his chest move up and down during the time it took for the news helicopter to fly overhead.

There was twenty minutes from the time the last shot was fired until the 911 call leaving Noel Lee enough time to leave the scene, ditch a weapon and wash his hands (he had moonshine available in his vehicle and water is available nearby) and come back. A GSR test was listed (as I read on the Internet) but the results were not. Likewise, there was something about a polygraph but further details were not available. Lee has told others he passed one. No tickets were noted to be found inside Superbike nor on Lee (but it was not stated that his clothing or pockets or wallet or vehicle were examined). Lee states he could see the hands of Scott Ponder, yet this would have been impossible by the time he arrived as Ponder's hands were not visible due to the position he was expired in.

Lee's behavior following the murders was considered odd by a number of people who felt he showed little sadness or concern over his friend's deaths. He claims in the second interview that I read on the Internet that he is on medication to keep him from "wigging out" and he has had seizures since the stress of his first marriage and short-term memory problems which causes him to forget things. Also, I read on the Internet, a curious bit of questioning about Lee having left the scene and come back which he said he was 100% positive he didn't do and "would put his hand on a Bible" to attest to that fact. As to his statement that he "for some strange reason" decided to take a shower, statement analysis of this wording indicates deception; first of all, it is odd Lee would decide to take a shower just to go pick up some tickets and take one at that time for no reason, which is exactly why he has to say "for some strange reason;" it is behavior that doesn't make sense. The only good reason a shower would be useful at that time is to delay his arrival at the shop until after the murders go down.

One more strange statement is useful to analyze; that Lee thought his friends were playing a trick on him  by pretending to be dead on the sidewalk and he saw them and told them, "Joke's over." In many crimes when a guilty party gives an odd statement in explanation of what they did or thought, what they are doing is using a previous event (because it did happen and then speaking of it is a sort of truthful thing) and moving it forward to another time or situation. My question would be, "Did someone tell Noel Lee, "Joke's over." And if so, what joke did they think it was?

A number of people state Lee had a falling out with Scott Ponder and Brian Lucas and was told not to come around the shop. Yet, he is supposedly picking up tickets that day from Scott. Just before the last customer leaves, that customer overhears Beverly Guy having a heated conversation with someone, he believes she is on the phone with because he doesn't hear another voice or see anyone else. This is exactly the time Noel Lee made his call to Guy. Twenty-five minutes later, Guy is the first one shot in the quadruple homicides.

I want to point out to those who think this might have been a professional hit: there was nothing particular professional about it. Eighteen rounds were fired to kill four people, a number of them completely missing their target. The shots were fired at relatively close range so an average person would have little trouble hitting their target (and, in spite of this, as I read on the Internet, the shooter missed Sherbert and the two escaping men a couple of times).  The victims were capped in the head only after they were immobile, so this didn't require much talent either. The killer left all the shell casings on the floor which meant he left evidence. This is not a brilliant crime nor an overly skilled one. It was simply opportunistic. No one saw the killer commit the crime and he got away with it.

From what I read on the Internet, there was no follow-up on Noel Lee, no phone records checked to see if he was on the phone with his girlfriend during the drive to Superbike, no serious interrogation, nothing of substance that indicates the detectives considered Lee a serious person-of-interest or even attempted to eliminate him through aggressive investigation.

Noel Lee just may be an oddly behaving fellow with the bad luck to come upon his friends just as they had been shot. But in almost nine years from the very first day, obvious persons-of-interest like Lee were ignored while one questionable person-of-interest got all the attention. This is an egregious failure of the Sheriff's Department to handle the case properly, if one can call this handling the case at all.

Almost no case so mishandled from the start has a prayer of making it to prosecution. Evidence that should have been located and confiscated early on is likely long gone. For a case with no DNA or fingerprints, the loss of time may be a justice killer. All we can hope now is that by my going public with all the information I have read on the Internet, someone with information and evidence will come forward and, by the miracle all the families hope for, justice can still be served.

And, if it can't be, we need to work to make sure our law enforcement agencies receive better training, more funding, and have criminal profilers in place when the case is fresh so that egos and politics don't squash the input of these profilers or of private investigators who come in years later and find the case has been wrongly pursued. We need to insure that the families and citizens have the right to hold their police agencies accountable for their work product, that new laws are instituted - "Sunshine Laws" -laws that require cases to be reviewed by an independent panel after a specific number of years in order to ensure oversight of case handling and police honesty and professionalism.

Something needs to be done. The failure of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department to solve a solvable crime for nearly a decade is not an anomaly in the world of criminal investigations. Cold case after cold case get shelved for similar failures and we are not doing a thing to change a system that is clearly not working.

Criminal Profiler Pat Brown

Pat Brown’s ONLY THE TRUTH
Harkening back to the writing styles of the earlier American authors – John Steinbeck, Harper Lee, and Carson McCullers, "Only the Truth" is a story of soul searching, a psychological mystery which examines the question, “Whom should one love and when should one quit doing so?” Billy Ray, a lonely and rather slow, uneducated African-American man living in the mountains of Arkansas, runs across a mysterious young woman at the railroad tracks. She asks to go home with him and Billy Ray takes her with him as she requests. He comes to love this woman, Charlene, unconditionally. She is the only woman he has ever loved, and life is finally good for Billy Ray. Then Charlene shoots the neighbor and burns down the neighbor’s house. His happy life destroyed, a confused and devastated Billy Ray is at a loss. Is the woman he loves “just a troubled girl” or a psychopathic killer? Billy Ray sets out on a quest to find the truth, only the truth, whether it leads him to be able to save Charlene from a death sentence or it frees him from her spell.

  1. Are Spartanburg County South Carolina Sheriff Chuck Wright and his staff guilty of nonfeasance, misfeasance or malfeasance in the 2003 Superbike Motorsports Unsolved Quadruple Homicide Investigation or are they just incompetent? That’s a question the victim’s families, residents and news media of Spartanburg County need answered.

By failing to allow other experienced professional board certified, retired police detectives and investigators such as myself to review the cold case file under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and failing to consider all of the findings of an experienced and highly recognized Criminal Profiler, Pat Brown and cooperate with them in hopes of developing new leads, Wright sends out a clear message to the killer: It’s OK to kill in Spartanburg County South Carolina and be free to kill again.

On his first full day in office President Obama issued an executive order that turned a new page on open government and emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, "A democracy requires accountability, and accountability requires transparency... In the face of doubt, openness prevails." Apparently Chuck Wright missed the president’s comments or believes it doesn’t apply to his “Good Old Boy Network”.

  2. A great majority of Spartanburg County residents and the media are currently under the false impression that their sheriff and staff is omnipotent and above misfeasance, nonfeasance or malfeasance when investigating violent crimes and cold case homicides, believing that all cases will be adequately investigated in a timely manner by a professional-experienced investigator who is willing to think outside the box releasing pertinent information that will assist in identifying suspects and murderers. But they have been badly misled by Sheriff Wright and his “Good Ole Boy Network”.

More and more often these victim’s families are learning that they are again victimized by the very agency charged with solving the crime. Sheriff Chuck Wright must begin to work with the public by sharing information with them to take murderers off the street. He has obviously forgotten he is responsible to protect and serve the public and needs to be held accountable for his organizational dysfunction and lack of professionalism.

It is apparent to me that Sheriff Wright and his investigators are not capable of solving this 8 + year quadruple homicide alone as a result of multiple reasons such as being understaffed, ill-equipped, lacking the perseverance and open mindedness necessary when these type investigations. More time has been spent by the Sheriff making excuses to the victim’s families and media then working the actual case and bringing a killer to justice.

Bottom line Sheriff Wright and his staff have failed miserably and as a result of inflated egos, petty politics, the real possibility that the refusal to accept outside assistance from professionals who have offered their services (for free - pro bono) who may actually have the information he needs to solve this case openly displays how unprofessional and arrogant he is.

Compounding this situation is that Sheriff Wright refuses to utilize all available resources (including free assistance from outside seasoned professionals), his outright refusal to share information with the media, general public and outside investigators by hiding behind the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exemptions of disclosure on open investigations based on his fear the case will eventually be solved by sources outside his agency, reflecting poorly on he and his staffs effectiveness.

  3. Each of us knows that peoples trust in law enforcement is increased when their police, sheriff and related law enforcement authorities can show and demonstrate to the public and victims families that they have conducted a thorough investigation with integrity. By failing to release information on this investigation to other trained professionals and the victims families it would appear to the family and public that Sheriff Wright has failed to adequately investigate the case or has something to hide. It also breeds corruption which sources have advised me openly exists in South Carolina.

In this case Sheriff Wright has intentionally withheld information from the media, trained outside investigators, the victim’s families and the public by denying them access to the case file, hiding behind his lame interpretation of the FOIA law enforcement exemption and what appears to be blatant incompetence in office.

This is a travesty of justice and an insult to the victim’s families who must live every day traumatized without knowing who and why someone murdered their loved ones and when and where they will strike again. And without question this killer will kill again and may have already done so.

  4. WOW. Is about all I can say! In the eyes of the public and everyone I have spoken with/ he has really been a suspect since day one when the 911 call was made public. This is a sad and Pathetic day for the families and friends to have to read such shitty detective work was done coming from such a large police department as we have! Everyone that has been involved in this case should be fired immediately! If you shared this information with Sheriff Wright 3 years ago or 3 months ago prior to this post he should be removed from office. This makes me sick and furious for these families and Sheriff Wright will catch hell from this new post I hope, "if you read the Internet correctly". I hope the ones that worked this case, has as many sleepless nights as the family members have had to endure. May they forever see the face/bodies of these four people forever in there mind. My prayer for this killer will be that God never gives them true inner peace in there heart or soul. Yes we have a forgiving God, but he will surely bring punishment to there soul, and in his time! To the family(s) I am sorry for your loss, but even more so that you had to wait almost 9 years and hear a criminal Profiler make (for a few) what you already had gut feelings about and the shitty police work that has been done. OK NOW IT IS TIME TO LET THE FBI/SLED CRACK THIS CASE AND BECOME THE REAL HERO. OUR LOCAL DEPARTMENT, DETECTIVE AND SHERIFF SURE DON'T DESERVE TO EVEN MENTION THIS CASE IN THE EYES OF THE PUBLIC!!!.

  5. Well said Don and thank you! Makes people really want to see justice done now in many forms and to many people! I can't even find words to say for Ms. Brown and yourself for the professional manner you two have had in keeping your lips tight and not disclosing what you learned on this case prior to now. I hope the citizens of Spartanburg take notice of the failure to really interrogate this person and when re-election time rolls around we all hold one Sheriff accountable for his actions in office after inheriting this case. All I can say is this. This makes me sick to my guts and I am not related to any of the victims. I am a friend to a (certain) family that has shown the most respect, control and highest expectations and trust that Sheriff Wright was doing everything in his power to solve this case.
Sometimes saying "I am sorry" helps, but I din't think there is anything Chuck Wright or his so called detectives could do or say to protect face after this. May God have mercy on there soul!

  6. To answer the question as to the time frame, I was there in Spartanburg in August of 2009. Following my visit, the family was told I was of no use, that I was a television celebrity, not a competent profiler. I held my tongue, hoping that in spite of they trashing of my name and professional abilities, they would follow up on my profile. Years went by with the family asking me about this lead and that and I gave up zero information. Finally, a newer detective that the family spoke with and pushed to revisit my profile, called me. We talked for a bit, then he hung up and I never heard back. Months later, the AMW show aired with Sheriff Chuck Wright claiming that this new and improved profile was the key to solving the homicides because that unknown customer "knew what happened." It was at this point I knew the department was never going to investigate the case properly under Wright's tenure and such malfeasance was egregious and, in my opinion, tantamount to obstruction of justice. This is what propelled me to speak up and bring the truth out to the family and the citizens.

    1. Pat given the totality of facts and circumstances as we now know them it is evident that something needs to be done as soon as possible to correct this misconduct. I believe now is the appropriate time for us to get together with the families in South Carolina and move promptly but cautiously with a sense of urgency. Please feel free to contact me at anytime (including right now) so that we can develop a strategy and timeline suitable for the families and media. Don

  7. Ms. Brown Thank you for answering so many questions and not giving up on this case and family members. I am sure it has been hard on you for 3 years now to keep this information contained within. A lot of people that I have heard discussing this case have said since day one the 911 caller showed no emotions on the phone. May God continue to Bless and keep you safe in your work as you continue to open doors for others to find answers.
Just a question and not something I read off the internet>> How long do you think it will take Sheriff Wright to respond publicly to these allegations? 8+ years.

  8. The stress of a (1) recent divorce is a red flag. The need of medication to help him not (2)"wiggingout" comment (3)calling 911 from a landline and going inside of a building. (4) The shower comment, (5) the tickets. All as you point out all are very interesting. The phone call made from his home, was anyone else at the home. Could someone else have made the phone call so the number would register and he already have been on his way to the shop or waiting, maybe talking to his friends outside until the customer left.

  9. Pat, I strongly suspect you are right about Noel Lee, such a strange thing for him to say that he thought they were playing a joke when he arrived.

Interesting that he said (his girlfriend told him) to remain on the premises to call 911 because (she said) someone might see him leave and think he was involved. Logically, if he had left to phone, then he could have used that as his excuse if he had been spotted leaving previously to dispose of the gun. Since he was reluctant to leave, do you think the gun would still be concealed somewhere on the superbike premises?

    ReplyDelete
  10. No, Anon, it would be foolish to leave the gun anywhere on the premises. Actually, that whole big deal about not leaving because it makes one look guilty raises the possibility that this a "protesting too much" situation. Often when guilty people try to cover an action, they go overboard trying to say they did just the opposite. Lee had twenty minutes to leave and come back which is ample time to ditch a weapon or to have someone come by and take it. It seemed in the very poorly transcribed interview I read on the Internet that there had been a question of Lee leaving and coming back which he denied over-adamantly with that 100%, hand on a Bible, another indicator of deception.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Pat, have you seen anywhere on the "Internet" what type weapon was used?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't understand why this information is not being reported in ANY of the media outlets in Spartanburg.

Actually I just answered my own question, it's "Spartanburg".

It is crystal clear that there are many problems with how this case has been handled.

I think that the family of the victims only recourse now is to appeal to the Federal authorities.

I do not think the Governor of this state will be much help as she is the epitome of "good ol boy" politics. SLED wouldn't be much help because I have never seen where SLED has ever come down against that of a law enforcement officer.

  13. I knew all involved and understand that Noel took a shower because he just woke up after having worked third shift. It would be No different than you and I waking up the next morning and taking a shower to start our day. I also heard that Scott left Noel Lee a voicemail on his phone and the police have that recording. Care to explain?

  14. What was this supposed falling out between lee and ponder about?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Apparently. last Anon, you didn't bother to actually read the blog post. Noel Lee himself said, "For some strange reason," so perhaps you ought to take up the issue with him.

As to a voice mail on his cell phone, yes, this is claimed by Noel Lee. Police did not confirm its existence. From what I "read on the Internet," no tickets were listed in the evidence found at the scene.

    ReplyDelete
  16. What type of weapon was used?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Noah Lee has done everything that has been asked of him. You have no idea what fear and shock can do to one. You should not judge his actions. What did he have to gain from hurting them? You are wrong doing this to him. The families of the victims are the ones who need to be checked more thouroughly.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry Pat, I agree with anon, sounds like a witch hunt to me. Lee has done everything The police has asked him to do. I also read on the internet where Lee took a polygraph and passed! No one and I mean No one can say how they would react in the same situation. What would he have to gain?

    ReplyDelete
  19. There is no witch hunt here. I have no dog in the fight or wish to have anyone railroaded for a crime he did not commit. I am telling the truth about the handling of the case by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department. There is no way that any good investigator could have ignored the inconsistencies in Lee's statements, his lack of alibi, and odd behavior. He should be investigated and eliminated and the Department did not do this and this is the whole point. This means that much evidence may have been overlooked or ignored or not found which might eliminate Lee or point to him or point to another person-of-interest.

  20. COME ON PEOPLE!!!! Pat is right on track!! I have said from the get go that the guy that called 911 didn't seem right. Something was off with him. Now, knowing the lies that Pat has pointed out that came out of his mouth. It only makes him more suspicious in my mind. Just because someone is your friend doesnt mean that they are not capable of such a crime. He could very well be a nice guy that simply snapped. Friends of his needs to take their blinders off and look at the whole story. The 911 call (Not a bit of panic in his voice and the words he used) Went to get tickets (tickets not there or logged into evidence) Do you think someone actually went and killed them for some $15 tickets and didnt take money in cash register or steal a bike or two? From what I hear he even acted bizarre at receiving of friends. Crying hysterically and then get a phone call and stop the crying immediately as if nothing was wrong. Could this all have been for show? Sure it could!!! Wake up people.!!!!! He was asked NOT to come to shop because of some altercation and yet this particular day it was ok.

  22. You say Lee was supposed to stay away from the shop... why were his and his son's dirtbikes in the shop? I know for a fact they rode in the field beside the shop on the weekends. I doubt very seriously they would allow them them to keep their dirtbikes up there if Lee was not allowed there. Makes no sense to me!!!!!!

  23. This whole story still makes me shake my head after all these years. I try to imagine myself in the bike shop that day and I know that if I had walked into something like that, my butt would have froze. I know that everyone has different emotions but good gracious, as the reports say, 4 people were lying there dead. I am sorry Mr.Lee but I am sure that Scott and Brian had better things to do that day than to supposedly put "fake" blood on them and lay outside waiting for your "freshly showered butt" to get there! That just makes no sense to me!! Did you think it was ketchup on them, my gosh!! I hope that one day, this case will be solved and that the person or persons (that's right, I have a problem thinking that just one person shot 4 people without any help from at least another person but what do I know. I am definitely not a detective so I should keep my nose out of this but at least this blog allows me to share my thoughts. It pisses me off that "detective" shows on TV can be solved in 45 minutes (yes, I know, it's TV) but it has taken this one what feels like a lifetime to even be brought up again.

  24. Anon, it is Sheriff Wright who has already declared that unknown customer guilty of committing the crime; he stated so in the press. I am not saying anyone is guilty of the crime; I just want a proper investigation of all parties until and unless they are eliminated through proper elimination methodology.

  25. Pat, one fo the above ANON post points out, his girlfriend told him to "stay on the premises" and go into the shop to "make the 911 call". >In case someone seen him or his vehicle there! So he walked over 1 or 2 friends that are dead with a possible gunman that may still be on the premises? GO FIGURE! Did he call his wife from a cell phone before calling 911 from outside? WHY the hell didn't he call 911 1st if this is the case. Most people would be so hysterical finding a friend or stranger on the ground bleeding-or-dead and anyones 1st response would be to call 911 -or-run and flag down a motorist. They surely would not ever go inside the building not knowing if someone else dead or alive was inside the building to place a 911 call. Whats with this was he seeking to find others inside alive -or-dead.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Apparently, his girlfriend told him it would look suspicious if he left the premises (he was talking to her whilst driving) which presumably gave him an alibi for at least 2.55pm - 3.10pm. It's difficult to see the surrounding area, I wonder if he parked somewhere behind the bike shop and walked up to the store, returned to his vehicle after the shooting, and only then drove in to the area in front of the shop - so that noone would see him there before 3.10pm.

    ReplyDelete
  27. This was the profile created by acclaimed FBI criminalogist John Douglas:

Douglas says shell casings inside the shop showed a trail of rage that was carried out by a man who knew what he was doing. "This person can shoot and can shoot very, very well. If you have any gun ranges around in your community this guy would be at the gun range, shooting ... or somewhere in his backyard where neighbors could hear this guy and knows he has a weapon and is shooting it all the time."

    ReplyDelete
  28. Douglas did not spend much time doing crime scene analysis and gave a quick interpretation of the crime scene. He agreed with the Sheriff about the price gouging in spite of no evidence to that fact. It is obvious that the guy knew how to shoot a gun and, like most men who shoot guns, probably spent time at a range or plinking in his backyard or the woods. That would probably include a good portion of men in the area.

"And, obviously, the guy wanted to kill the people in the shop and he had a rage against them. But, FBI profiler John Douglas say that killer is someone people in the community -- and his victims -- definitely knew. "This was not a stranger they were looking at. This was someone they had some contact with. They had some trouble with this person in the past." Douglas says the killer was probably upset about a business deal with someone who worked at Superbike, and he believes the murders were a planned act of revenge. Douglas continues by saying, "the person who's responsible for this particular crime was on a mission ... [he] went in there right from the get go knowing he's gonna wipe everyone out."

But Douglas' profile shows that the killer clearly didn't like the people at Superbike. 'Someone who would have heard this guy complaining that he got screwed over by someone there or by the whole company." Douglas also says the killer would have watched media coverage of the case closely, but that by now he might have moved away from the area.'"

Douglas says he was probably upset about a business deal is based on no evidence at all. That the killer watch the news is said in almost every case and does not differentiate the killer from the rest of the community who would be doing the same thing. Saying he might have moved away from the area is not based on a shred of evidence either. These three statements are Inductive Profiling which makes conclusions based on statistics from other cases, not on the evidence at hand. Deductive Profiling uses the scientific method and does not guess something based on generalizations. For example, I do not have a clue if the killer is black or white because there is no evidence to say anything about race. DO say that this was not a professional hit and the victims knew the man due to where he was positioned in the room when the shooting began. Because there was no evidence of any escalating price gouging issue, there is no evidence to claim the motive has anything to do with that.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mrs Brown, I am - as always - impressed with your deductive skills. The crime scene profile is as clear as it can be. The "witnesses", which have not yet been completely cleared have to be done so. And afterwards there's the motive. Who could possibly GAIN from this shooting, apart from some psycho seeking revenge ? Yours sincerely, Châtelaine.

  30. Ms. Brown, You are obviously a very intelligent and respected woman and clearly know your facts. Bravo to you.

My husband attended the funeral and memorial of one of the four victims. We both knew very little about the murders at the time. I will never forget, however, something he said to me when he arrived home after a sad and emotional trip to South Carolina.

He said "While at the gathering, Noel was sitting at the foot of the bed in a room and laughing with ***** and it was very weird. Why was he in that room alone with ***** and laughing at a time like this"?

Although we don't know how we would react unless it happened to us, my husband is still is bothered by the laughs he heard by a person who supposedly found four people shot to death. He didn't laugh. I didn't laugh when he called me from SC.

My husband had a bad feeling. We have been talking about that feeling for years.

If noone is ever convicted of this crime, it does not mean he/she will not be punished.

Love to the victims and their dear families.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ms. Brown. Does some people just not get the theory and explanations that you have laid out very clearly with this case.

You are the professional and I am sure you have all your ducks in a row >As you have said, if it looks like a duck and Quacks like a Duck******

The fact remains to be answered by Sheriff Wright! Why was this 911 person not interrogated properly in a timely manner? Even since you gave a report and discussed this with Mr. Wright (over 3 years ago) why has he and his detectives not had this person in again to interview and see how many more different alib's he can come up with?

Why has another proffesional not been allowed to review this case? What can force Sheriff Wright to make a call and invitation to the FBI? Or is it true they all cover for each other?

Also in another above post it shows a friend that attended a gathering and found Noel and ***** laughing while sitting on the foot of a bed, during such a somber time for many that he reports feeling uncomfortable with Noel and ***** behavior.

Many people have stated how his behavior and demanor was while attending visitation for two of the victims at visitation and how bazzar his actions were then.

What and if anything can the public expect from Sheriff Wright and the News media to help get things in motion for this case.

Thanks also for your following all the post and comments you continue to make answering everyones questions and concerns for the victims and there families. May God bless you and continue to keep us all updated!

  32. To the individual, Gerald Stevens, this is Scott's widow, Melissa. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO SIT IN MY SHOES!!!!!! It is true, I have not been successful in marriage since Scott's death. If you honestly do not think that I was not investigated, maybe you ought to call the Sheriff's department and find out for yourself, EXACTLY WHAT I WAS PUT THROUGH. Do you honestly think that my life has been cake since his death? It has been absolute hell. I have two beautiful sons and trust me, they are very much loved and well taken care of. I am a damn good mother and my life revolves around them. You can have whatever opinion you want, it does not bother me in the slightest. I am not a money hungry individual, If I were, my son would own the land in front of the shop, which rightfully belonged to him, because of Scott's death. I have a Master's degree in Justice and Security Administration and am very aware of the justice system and all flaws in entails at times. I have been the subject of various rumors, and again, have no problem with it. I have nothing to hide and will always do whatever I have to in helping to get answers, AS I HAVE SUFFERED IN WAYS YOU CANNOT IMAGINE. Thanks for your comments!!! And good day to you.
    Sincerely, Melissa Ponder

This link is an article which it states Noel Lee went the next day to the Bilo Center (WHO DOES THIS AFTER WHAT JUST HAPPENED???)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I know him and he was trying to keep things normal for his little boy. He told me Melissa told him to go because Scott wanted he and his son to go. Why hasn't anyone explained Why his dirt bike was at the shop? I saw his bike and his sons bike. If he was told to stay away why were the bIke's there? It makes no sense!!!!! If I told someone to stay away I surely would not let them keep their property at my place of business!!! And how do you explain the polygraph test that he PASSED? If he had used moonshine to get the gsr off of him would he not smell of alcohol? I read they checked his arms and clothes. 18 rounds would definitely have left some trace behind. You people are looking at the wrong person!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well said Melissa! It is time everyone voices the concerns and how they were or were not investigated. Apparently a few were not interrogated well enough. Innocent people dont have a problem with being interviwed/interrogated.

When people tell the truth the answer willcalways be the same.

Apparently Pat Brown has opened a can of kick ass that maybe one person was not prepared for> Let me try and guess who made these sly remarks HMMMM 911 caller-or- maybe one of his excape goats. Which one going to shelter him you think?

Not sure how much information you have given regarding all the questions that have been asked about on here and how many you have not 1.) For fear 2.) Safety for you sons 3.) maybe things you have knowldge of the 911 caller not being allowed on premises again and have not told. 4.) It doesn't matter as long as you have been cleared as a suspect! LET THE DUCKS KEEP DUCKING!

You and all the other family members should be upset with the Sheriffs Department for the slack investigative work that was done within a normal time frame from the department. I hope and pray an anwer will come soon! You will never have peace until the you find out who the one was that commited this crime and why. Bless you all and I would never want to walk a day in your shows with such a crime done to a loved one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. So I guess, Anon, keeping things "normal" for your little boy is showing him that what you do when your two best friends get brutally murdered is go have some fun! Yep, show him to not care about others and be a narcissist! THAT is great parenting!

A good deal of what your heard seems to come from Noel Lee himself. Since you know so much, do tell me where Lee got his tickets for the event and why no tickets were found at Superbike after the murders?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hmm, does Noel Lee ever think for himself? He says his girlfriend told him to go make the 911 call from inside the business where the killer might still be and so he won't look guilty walking across he street to call, and, now he says Melissa tells him he MUST go to the motorcycle event because Scott would care so much that he did. And does he always do exactly what others tell him?

    ReplyDelete
  38. So he called his g/f BEFORE calling 911????

He entered the building NOT knowing the killer was still inside??

He stepped OVER his friends to get inside??

The g/f REALLY said 'don't leave b/c the police might think YOU did it'? THAT was her concern??

And before anyone says I am trying to 'railroad' someone... I do NOT know any of the family nor did I know the ones killed.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Man, this case is aggravatin'

    ReplyDelete
  40. you know this seems like an awful big railroad to me. youve found him gulity as have most of the people on this site. without knowing all of the facts apparently. one person puts out a good point if he was not allowed at the shop why would he be allowed to keep his sons bike and his bike at the shop. that doesnt seem practical with me. another question. if the shooter was "experienced" did you ever look into the fact of did lee own a gun? or have a concealed weapons permit? because im sure it would be on file considering to buy a gun from any store in SC you have to go through a FEDERAL background check which cleary means that there would be a paper trail to guns owned. Did you look into any of that? and as for the statement about his son. if it happened to me i wouldnt subject my son to such grief. i would explain it to him sure but he was young could you imagine what its like for his dad to try and explain that to him and have people accusing his father of such things as you all are doing now? nobody can say for sure what you would do if you were put into this situation simply because you have never been put through it! and until you do and only until you do can you say how you would react. so before you accuse somebody or start pointing fingers or in this case trying to railroad somebody. Make sure you have every fact which clearly is not present even from you mrs. brown. there are alot of details you left out of your article here and its like any other media outlet. they put what they want to get the most reaction out of the public. and its a shame that this is what this world is coming too!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Pat---you are somehow disregarding one thing!!! Lee passed the lie detector! Also Sheriff Wright is a great Sheriff and a great man! Sheriff Coffee blew this case---so quit pointing fingers at Sheriff Wright. Looks to me that the evidence points to the man in the truck---how could u be so surethat the timer on the video camera was accurate. Why did that man refuse to take a lie detector test?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Pat- why did lee pass the lie detector then? And why wouldn't the man in the truck take a lie detector test? Also you should quit coming down so hard on sheriff wright! He is a great man and a great sheriff! Sheriff coffee blew this case-not wright!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. So is the guy who helped put together the sketch also the guy who was seen on the surveilance camera towing a bike from a truck moments later?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous 8.59Am - He was talking to his gf on the phone whilst he was driving to the bike shop. He arrived there, supposedly, at 3.10pm. Good way to give himself an alibi ??

    ReplyDelete
  45. Apparently a few of these post, may be from Mr. Lee-or-some of "cronies" who are trying to help ease his conscious to keep his memory suppressed so he want "WIg-Out"!

    My Gosh are people this stupid or what! You don't even have to speculate after reading the post of Ms. Brown as to who may have had a motive, access, opportunity, knowledge of who would be present in shop, strange behavior's, before and after the killings, etc;

Also, Mr. Lee reported he was on the phone with his girl friend, Has she been investigated for accuracy. If the phone records were supenoed it would have showed a call being placed to the shop/time frame etc for which must have been true; He could have called the shop from his home sure, left his home placed a call back to his home ) no one present keeping the phone in a busy status. Thus giving an alibi of the phone ordeal. We can all speculate at this point, but with this said, Even if he was on the phone when he arrived on the scene> what normal person would stay on the phone with no extreme emotions of panic and carry on a conversation with a girl friend?

This time could have been used to save a life or catch a killer in action Instead of making plans of "what to do" and "where to do it from" instead of calling 911 immediately?

It has clearly been laid out as to why Ms. Brown has reason for concern of why Mr. Lee has not been thoroughly interrogated. Maybe if he was (even after 8 yrs.) he will "wig out" and come forth with what really happened that day in November or have a clear memory recall of his actions.

Also, the polygraph test according to Ms. Brown was inconclusive and no report was in the case file! So with him reporting he passed, seems to be another lie!

Maybe thats just another question that Sheriff Wright needs to address! NOTE: People with narcissism have been reported to be able to pass such test anyway. They are never wrong and grandiose!

Just another reason a person would have gone to a motor cross event at the Bi-Lo center the very next day, "lack of emotions'".

Anon: 18 Rounds! Must have been a 9mm. Most anyone would have speculated that!

So strange as I was typing this post aTelevision
    commercial just reported >>>>>

THE ONLY THING MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE MIND OF A KILLER, IS THE ONES THAT CAN CATCH THEM!

I guess thats about as true as true can be.
1Watch out the dogs have been cut loose!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Clearly, some Anonymous posters refuse to actually READ what I said in the posts or are trying to distort what I have said. At no point did I say Noel Lee is guilty of a crime; I stated he was not properly investigated. I also stated that the man in the truck who passed the convenience store at a certain time has an alibi IF the time stamp on the video is correct. I clearly wrote this should have been verified and it was not, leaving that man a person-of-interest as well, although with less concerning evidence pointing at him. I also stated neither Lee or this man may have committed the crime and it could be that unknown customer but that unknown customer has no evidence pointing in his direction barring he was in the shop earlier and did not come forward.

As to who messed up this investigation, Sheriff Wright has no problem blaming the sheriff before him, yet I came into the equation in 2009 and nothing has been done under Wright's watch to properly investigate the case. Instead, he comes out and blatantly tells an untruth to the public that the man in the composite is connected to the crime and then further lies to the public by saying I know nothing of the case. If Sheriff Wright is your example of properly handling casework, your county is in severe trouble.

    ReplyDelete

  48. Im going to share some facts...
Initial investigation botched up at the hands of Sheriff Coffey. DNA was incorrectly marked, done at the hands of someone of Spartanburg County, NOT SLED. sled only tested what was sent to them. Areas of Superbike were NOT INVESTIGATED , at the time of crime.
The original composite drawing was done OVER THE TELEPHONE.. The man I will refer to as "the witness....man providing description given for composite # 1 and #2 7 years later. The WITNESS has never been "happy/satisfied" with the first composite. Why would he not insist they re-draw the composite prior to 7 years later?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sheriff Coffey's investigative scene screwed up crime scene. Sheriff Coffey's had 1st "profile drawn via TELEPHONE BETWEEN DRAWER AND WHAT I REFER TO AS THE WITNESSED... face blacked out, identity hidden, why if nothing to hide? Families, surviving spouses not investigated thoroughly. Same concerns abpout homicide from this particular family, Brian's birth family were not even considered. All they did was listen.. WE SAW AND LISTENED DURING THE DAYS, MONTHS, AND FINALLY YEARS LATER Sheriff Wright refuses to do just that. Sheriff Wright, you needed to unwrap that package much earlier.. you ran against Coffey for a reason right? why would you trust the initial investigation?

  50. Brian Lucas parentsMay 22, 2012 at 6:48 PM

SHERIFF COFFEY'S TEAM BOTCHED THE CRIME SCENE.
SHERIFF WRIGHT KNOWS CRIME SCENE BOTCHED, but continues his investigation WITH BOTCHED STUFF FROM INITIAL INVESTIGATION. Sheriff Wright agreed to allow Pat Brown to review Superbike Motorsports Murder file, PRO BONO. She spent 4 long tiring days reviewing files, completed a report. Allan Wood tells us Tom and Lorraine Lucas "she was crammed down our throat". Is that how he feels and does Sheriff allow Allan Wood to "run the entire investigation", even though Allan Wood refuses to admit something he said the first time we met with him, at Brian's in-laws only days after murder. ALLAN WOOD REFUSES TO ADMIT WORDS WE HEARD. They should have been crucial to the case.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Composite drawing given over the telephone! !
Are you kidding > now what the hell is wrong with this picture! If and when the another Detective or Sheriff Wright found out this information why was a new one not done immediately. And then 8 years later a new drawing was done by the witness and Sheriff Wright proclaims this is our man?

Also, Allan Wood needs to be questioned about any words or allegations he may have made that could be crucial at that time.

Also, I can remember a man with the last name "Lee" as being Sheriff Coffeys right hand man on the Department at one point. Any relationship with Noel Lee. Also, someone has reported that Noels father was with the FBI or something like it. Any truth to that info!

Also, Scott's biological father has been missing for years now, but people have report seeing him and have even reported he is in ? a witness protection program! Anything is possible and yes the public is pressing for answers on who did this crime. But more than anything the families need closure and an investigation done to rule out certain individuals

    ReplyDelete
  52. Who says Noel and Hunter's bikes were there? Maybe they were upset because they had been charged for storage fees, and maybe that's why he was told to stay away. The "tickets is a bunch of crap", and no Noel was not going with Brian, his wife and in-laws were going to the mts for the weekend. Alot of these comments contain "apparently" and that suggests to me it's someone for Noel, as that's first word out of his mouth on 911 call. Really Noel you went to the show? your behavior was less than normal at receiving friends, and even more abnormal after Brians funeral. It continues to be abnormal, as we have requested to talk face to face with you since the murders, and you have refused to do so. Why can't you look into the eyes of your best friend's parents and answer their questions? Is it true that Robert Moore who works for Sheriff's Office is related to you? how so? Any connections with Allan Wood to Rhodes, Lee or Wood family? just wondering.

    ReplyDelete
  53. To the man I'll call "the witness"...why didnt you insist they re-draw composite initially> We have known for years you've been unhappy with it. What about the "other customers in the store who saw this "person of interest...what type of input did they have on the composite", excuse me no one probably asked that. They had "the word of the witness".... this person holds a ton of information and for some uncertain reason identity withheld and face hidden. WHY? its obvious SSO has tunnel vision and is unwilling to "invite SLED, FBI or an independent cold case group in to review". Nothing to hide, right? was everything given for Pat Brown to review...anything withheld? Why would you NOT RULE OUT ANY AND ALL SUSPECTS? you have yet to talk to surviving family members, some spouses etc at great extent. Actions speak louder than words and some people's actions are "extremely abnormal and have been for 8 1/2 years". What's it gonna take to "unwrap this package Sheriff Wright and bring much needed help in". Trust me, if it were one of your children you would be doing everything we are doing. We are not going away. To date we've provided alot of resources, NY Times, USA Today, Geraldo, Playing cards in SC prisons etc. And ,most importantly, where do you get off being so disrespectful and insulting to someone who spent 5 days in your office and provided a report. No doubt in our mind your staff laughed about and filed it away while laughing. Maybe she proved your theory wrong? It's not about who solves this crime, ITS THE FACT THAT YOU HOLD RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLETE THE INVESTIGATION. Nothing to hide, no cover-up or law enforcement involvement, just EXTEND YOUR INVITATION SHERIFF AND PROVE WE ARE WRONG.....thats what we want !!

  54. Fox news will be conducting "in person interviews with Sheriff Wright and us, Tom and Lorraine Lucas within the next few days. Yeah, its okay...this has been going on for 8 1/2 years. Sheriff Wright could have avoided all this by doing the right thing UPFRONT.
RE-VICTIMAZATION IS WHAT IS HAPPENING... to more than just us, the community deserve to feel assured they are living in a safe environment. 60 unsolved cases in Spartanburg Co cold cases.... Quadruple, Triple, God knows how many doubles.... what's going on? Other victims unhappy and rebelling STAND YOUR GROUND. Wonder how CNN will cover this story after interviews about CWP.

Please tell us the answer to that. Because, I'm sure you had more important things going on than worrying about Noel and if he went to that event. Be a MAN and answer these peoples questions. Maybe you simply "wigged" out that day. Who knows? But, your strange words/behavior doesnt make you look innocent. Schedule interviews with news media answer questions people have. If you are innocent what does it hurt? Help get to the bottom of what happened to your best friends. Meet with the families if they want to meet with you. Are you scared to? Are you ashamed to? That would be the ONLY reason you wouldn't want to.

    ReplyDelete
  65. fact of the matter is that Noel Lee took the lie detector test and passed. Pat Brown wont comment on that1 She just has thrown that away to the wolves bc it doesnt match up with her belief that Lee is the killer. Her statement that the man who left the scene in the truck has an allibi (the video camera) is weak. The camera prob was not synced to the real time. That man refused a lie detector. Sounds to me that Pat Brown has uncovered nothing more than the Sheriff's Office in her investigation.

Noel- take another lie detector!!!! I believe Pat says she didnt see results of test (She will have to clarify that)

One does NOT need motive to kill someone- A simple arguement can set someone off to do something that they might not otherwise do.

  68. I GUESS NOEL'S STORIES KEEP CHANGING AND HE DOESNT REMEMBER THINGS BECAUSE OF MEDICATION TO KEEP HIM FROM "WIGGING" OUT??? IT IS CLEAR THAT SEVERAL OF THE PREVIOUS COMMENTS ARE FROM HIM OR WIFE. THERE ARE OTHER THINGS HIS WIFE IS CLEARLY NOT AWARE OF BEFORE THEIR MARRIAGE!!!!!

  70. Are we sure that Lee has the brains to pull off a crime this big?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Let me start by telling you that this is being composed and typed by Brian
Lucas' mother, Lorraine. Pat Brown was "invited into Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright", after we had spoken to Ms. Brown and she offered her expertise pro-bono. This all came about when Gaffney had the "spree killer', just before Burris was killed by law enforcement. Pat Brown had been a "facebook friend" on the fb page in the name of Brian Lucas. Ms. Brown was on local news channel speaking with Sheriff Bill Blanton of Cherokee County. The reason that I contacted Pat Brown is because I questioned if the composite they had drawn could have "been the same person from composite #1. It was during this discussion that she became informed of our unsolved quadruple homicide.

    ReplyDelete
  72. #2 comment.. I have lots to say! Another fact that I questioned was was there an association between the "spree killer" and Superbike Murders? The reason being we heard a reporter make the statement that there was a "possible loose connection between the two". To this date, this question has been asked repeatedly by many people, particularly those that live in Cherokee SC. They have heard this statement made. So my question was and still is simply WAS THERE A CONNECTION? Out of the 4 victims, 4 could have possible association with Brian's widow's family. The Tyler's are Brian's widow's cousin's wife and her daughter. The Linder lady son is Dr. Lee Linder.
Brian's widow, Robin's father is Dr. Frank Barnhill, also a family practice physician in the same city of Gaffney. I'm not finger pointing here people, simply trying to explain a few things. Ms. Brown very graciously offered her services PRO-BONO (no money paid to her, she paid her own expenses etc).. at NO COST TO OUR COUNTY SHERIFF DEPT. Tom and I presented this offer to Sheriff Chuck Wright, who was quick to say yes. Arrangements were made for her visit, total time allowed 5 days. Sheriff Wright asked Ms. Brown if she was going to "meet the Lucas', her reply was she had not met us and Sheriff told her go meet them they are nice folks.. so we met. We were told that she had been asked to sign a privacy disclosure and did not attempt to ask her to violate that. Rather spent time talking about her personal story experiences etc. When we spoke to the Sheriff's Office we were told "she didn't give us anything we haven't heard 10 times" and "she has no law enforcement experience and is a tv celebrity". It was obvious by what was told to us by representatives of SSO that "laughed it off and filed it, possibly in the trash". Much later Allan Wood told us to my face "that she was shoved down our throat". I wasn't at all surprised by this comment, as we have had a "problem with Allan Wood (in charge of detectives of violent crime) since the day he went to the Barnhill's home to speak with Brian's widow, Robin. To this day, Allan Wood denies a statement that either he or another investigator who has since left the Sheriff's office, Jason Yon. We KNOW WHAT WE HEARD.... we explained all of this and alot of other information, concerns etc. to "administration of Sheriff Bill Coffey". The most I can say is THEY LISTENED.

  73. there are several points that I want to make regarding content that's been in that blog. I only know FOR SURE one person who had nothing to do with this homicide. That one person is myself, Lorraine Lucas, Brian's Mom. I cannot account for anyone else and as far as I am concerned, everyone else is suspect in my eyes until this case is solved and charges are brought forth. If that insults you, so be it. Many people have came into our lives since Superbike. All I can do is take everyone at face value, which is exactly what I do. However actions speak louder than words. Sheriff Coffey's administration botched the crime scene. That fact has been proven. I know this because Melissa Ponder was "questioned and told by Allan Wood that Scotty, was not Scott's child. Melissa told him she would have Scott's body exhumed to prove that. Wood told her he would get back to her in several days (and don't talk about this with anyone).According to Melissa several weeks later Allan Wood called and told her "SLED messed up the DNA". SLED tested the DNA sent to them from Spartanburg Co. The only reason they knew this for sure was, after TESTING ALL 4 DNA SAMPLES, determined Scott and Brian's DNA were 'inappropriately marked/reversed'. Excuse me Mr. Wood, that mistake would be from Spartanburg County, not SLED. Don't blame the wrong person, accept the blame where blame is due...Sptg Co. This is the reason we are so frustrated with the investigation and handling of these 4 innocent victims. I could go on and on about Sheriff Coffey's errors/lack of "accepting outside open invitations from other agencies to assist his team". For whatever reason, he DECLINED AND REFUSED HELP. Under his administration the 1ST COMPOSITE picture was done 'over the telephone'....give me a break people? And "the witness (as I will refer to him as) supposedly wasn't happy with it". hum... why wouldn't you insist to continue working on it. We have "had questions and concerns about WHO THE WITNESS IS", that person is being protected. WHY? Furthermore and more importantly WHY WON'T YOU TAKE A LIE DETECTOR TEST? What makes you 'afraid to do that', you have nothing to hide. Did this person 'come forth willingly', or as they began processing customer list activity, did this person volunteer his "knowledge". What about other customers who witnessed this person... same description from them? Just thinking here, you see I am a mother of a victim and I have emotions. Lots of questions through these 8 1/2 years have never been thoroughly investigated, if at all. Was this "witness" unhappy with Superbike or one of the customers as he left Superbike 11/6/03?

    ReplyDelete
  74. This wasn't a crime of impulse or anger. It was masterminded well in advance and methodically executed by a team of individuals.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tom and I (Brian's parents) relocated back to Spartanburg 2006 for 2 reasons. To be close to our family here and to make sure this case was being worked, and never was labeled "COLD CASE". Talk about making your blood run cold people, swallow hearing those words said about your son's homicide AFTER 8 1/2 YEARS. AND CLOSURE...there is NEVER CLOSURE. It is life changing event people, some curl up and die, other like Tom and I much more prefer to be the voice for our son, Brian Lucas and his friends, not just co-workers. We don't enjoy doing having to "seek nationwide media attention" as we were told by probably the best person who has had his hands on the case, featured in Superbike Motorsports, Anthony Lachica. So that's what we did, as they were "certain it was an unhappy customer of Superbike, bikes sold and sent all over the US". Anthony Lachica took it to heart and "went the extra mile".... put pleas out on motorcycle blogs etc.. to get answers. For whatever reasons, personal I'm sure, Anthony Lachica went to Iraq for 2 years to train Iraqi Police. What a loss for Superbike and all the other families who trusted Anthony Lachica and knew he would be honest. That's what you need.... HONESTY..... pretty simple, but not alot of people can do that anymore, right people? Then along came a retired ex-Sheriff employee Tom Smith who did a great job organizing and familiarizing him with this OLD UNSOLVED CASE. I can only speculate, but have been told by many that "he had a difference with Allan Wood (imagine that...) and was taken out of that capacity. Thank you too Tom (and Anthony).. we knew where we stood with you and had trust in you.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It's important that during Anthony Lachica's work on the case Sheriff Wright had Lachica working full time on Superbike, along with several others (don't quote me on this folks), plus had at his disposal the violent crimes team members. William Gary's been WORKING IT ALONE, along with all the other Cold or Unsolved Cases, plus pulling his share of "coverage".. so if a homicide happens during his coverage, you got it... he's responsible for it TOO!! You would be amazed at the number of people who have "seeked us out (Brian's parents... the ones out there in the media) to give us "information they believe is relevant...names, stories etc". WHY ARE THEY CALLING US THE VICTIMS FAMILIES? Alot of them have turned these tips in through crimestoppers previously and feel LIKE NOTHING HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED. They don't have TRUST IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY SHERIFF'S ADMINISTRATION. So that puts us in a rather peculiar position, having to contact the "authorities at SSO" to share this information", and furthermore to explain how and where these people are reaching out to us. At times, it's like God throws us an "ANGEL"
That angel may or may not have correct or relevant information, but we have no choice but to accept it at face value. TRUST... The families and citizens have to TRUST THEIR LAW ENFORCEMENT. Before long the people I'll call "tipsters" start contacting us back upset because they have felt badgered, insulted, put down and treated unfairly 'AS A TIPSTER'. Once again we reach out, but this time we go higher in the administration, Lt. Dan Johnson. Thank God for Lt. Johnson... he has restored our faith that there are law enforcement that will go the limit for each and every case, as if the victims were his own family. That's what it takes. I've been told law enforcement are told not to "connect to families". how can you NOT CONNECT TO THE FAMILIES? The victims families put their TRUST IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, that they will do "the right thing". Shortly after really turning to Major Johnson, hearing him really listening, caring and knowing in your heart he would "correct the problem", we saw results. FACTUAL RESULTS. Sheriff Wright told us in the press conference that if the WITNESS WASN'T HAPPY WITH THE COMPOSITE, SEND ANOTHER ARTIST TO HIM, WHEREVER HE IS... and have it re-drawn. Composite #2 and Press Conference by Sheriff Wright was very emotional for me. I sat there in front of all the media and as Sheriff Wright spoke about us, I realized I WAS THE MOTHER FIGURE SITTING THERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. BEVERLY, DIED WITH HER SON ON 11-6-03. I cried tears of frustration, because I knew in my heart that we had WASTED 7 YEARS ON RE-DRAWING THIS COMPOSITE. AND FURTHER MORE.... THEY ARE STILL AFTER 8 1/2 YEARS ONLY LOOKING FOR "business related"... Yes, it is a possibility. It is HIGHLY POSSIBLE IT COULD BE PERSONAL... against one of any of the 4 killed 11/6/03. What better way to "mask the murder of one than to get all 4" because then you have the 5th possibility of reason for death, business related. Definitely makes it harder to solve wouldn't you say?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Let me make myself perfectly clear, through the past 8 1/2 years, we have asked/pleaded for the Sheriff's Office to "start from scratch and begin the interview process of surviving family members etc, give lie detector tests etc". Why wouldn't you do this, ESPECIALLY AFTER 8 1/2 years. Anyone who is innocent will not have a problem cooperating. Our lives are an open book now anyway...bring it on!!! Each and every person who died on 11/6/03 had "issues in their lives past or present", why should that all be OVERLOOKED, TURN YOUR HEAD THE OTHER WAY. Once again, actions speak volumnes and there is plenty of abnormal and suspicious behavioral activity all around. REPEATEDLY WE HAVE BEGGED SHERIFF WRIGHT TO INVITE SLED INTO THE CASE. He refused to while Reggie Lloyd was in office, WHAT'S THE HOLD UP SHERIFF WRIGHT? We know you ran against Sheriff Coffey, for a reason. We are aware of the platforms you ran on in your eager fight. NOW PROVE TO US THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CITIZENS OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, STATE OF SC , THAT YOU WILL DO WHATEVER'S NECESSARY.

  78. Sheriff Wright could "become like Sheriff Wells became" the person behind the scene, who ultimately solved Susan Smith's children's deaths. For whatever reason one day last week Susan Murphy Milano posted a 'blog type remark' making insuations regarding certain people associated with Superbike Motorsports. A friend called me to ask me what was going on? I had no idea what was going on, I rushed to the computer to read it. After calling my husband Tom to explain what had just been brought to my attention, I immediately called Major Johnson, to let him know so he wouldn't get blind sided. Susan Murphy Milano hosts radio show on Zeus radio. We were on live radio 2/11/11 where Susan Murphy Milano actually voiced her opinion and/or questions she had with Superbike Motorsports Murders. She did focus on Noel Lee, as many agree the 911 seemed 'less than normal'. Susan Murphy Milano is an Advocate for Domestic Violence and is very resourceful. It was obvious from what she had blogged, she or someone she knew had done some homework and/or investigations. Low and behold the following day as I signed into Facebook, I see that Pat Brown has posted on Brian Lucas' facebook page the 1st blog. Once again I was totally unaware of and had nothing to do with her posting (YES, I'll take a lie detector test). Once again I call Major Johnson, who says "nothing good will come of this type media attn". Next thing I know WSPA wants to do an interview. Of course we are upset, disappointed and questioning what has caused this? Your guess is as good as mine (or ours). God gave people free will. We knew Sheriff Wright and Pat Brown had been interviewed, prior to doing our interview. When we watched it that night we were HORRIFIED AT SHERIFF WRIGHT'S ACTIONS AND WORDS! PERSONALLY I AM EMBARRASSED having Sheriff Wright attack Pat Brown. Unprofessional and un-called for. From there, now it's history................Pat Brown made her choice to tell her story "of what she read on the internet". Now Sheriff Wright, it's time to do damage control. How are you gonna make things right now? Is this your meaning of justice? Why should any of us have FAITH IN YOUR WORD.... FAITH IS A BIG WORD FOR YOU, I know because we have talked many more times than I'm sure you ever thought you would "have to". I've looked forward and wondered..... what will the day be like when I go to the door and you or someone I RESPECT FROM THE SHERIFF OFFICE...WILL STAND AT MY DOOR TO PROVIDE US WITH ANSWERS TO WHY AND WHO? My questions to Sheriff Wright is now he needs to do "damage control and WHAT IS HE FINALLY READY TO DO TO SOLVE THIS ALMOST 9 YEAR OLD HOMICIDE"? What is going to change? You've seen it in my home.... WE WILL ...NEVER, EVER, NEVER GIVE UP... everyone is responsible for their actions.
    CHOICES.... LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES

    ReplyDelete
  80. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it's called freedom of speech.... innocent until proven guilty. Pat Brown is merely stating a fact here... she feels in her professional opinion that "more investigation needs to be done with regards to Noel Lee to rule him out".
It's as simple as that.. she did not say he did it, RULE HIM OUT. At least that's what I read on this page, same thing you all are reading. 'WITNESS'... why won't you take a lie detector test? If the table was turned, what would your mother want "my son Brian do"... That's what I'm asking you to do... kindly submit to lie detector test and come out from behind the shield. After all, I'm sure someone will reveal your identity soon, your voice wasn't distorted. And finally Noel Lee...
you were one of Brian's friends, I have pictures of you holding his first child only days old in the shop. We contacted you within days of the shooting to talk and your response was the same as 'it was when we talked to Brian......"I'll ask Robin" '. You never returned our call and we found out you were taking your son to play with the children on Saturday. We asked what time you were coming over, and saw you there.... briefly, as shortly after we came into the room you left the room (no further comment). For the past 8 years we have been asking you to sit face to face with us and talk. Still hasn't happened. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS NOEL. Not accusing you of shooting anyone, but have to question do you have knowledge that you just don't want to share. If so, WHAT and WHY AREN'T YOU SHARING IT. Probably the last words you said to me were "obviously Brian and Scott didn't love me like I loved them". NOW, POSSIBLY I UNDERSTAND THAT STATEMENT. We can have that talk at the Sheriff's Office at your convenience. And yes, Brian Lucas loved you and Hunter. If you don't know that, you are missing the whole point. Remember, smile, he's watching you.... no fingerpointing, just HONESTY AND FACTS...

You have been my "Godwinks and strength to get me through"....And thank you so much each and every friend who have supported us, offered compassion and love, unconditionally. 83. This post is from a friend>Barbara Morris

Lorraine, reading the post from you tonight breaks my heart as a mother and It has brought me to my knees in prayer. Anyone that knows you can read the pain in your words and know you and Tom are suffering tremendously. I have read the post about 3 times now back to back through many tears falling!

I have had the pleasure to be a guest in the Lucas home, share meals together, conversations, and shed tears with these wonderful and devoted parents and know first hand the frustration and desperation they are dealing with seeking answers for who killed there son and 3 others and why!

I have always been told "there is no other Love like the Love of your Mother". This is true for many of us. Let us all stop and think, would we be as disgusted with the handling of this case as they are? And we wonder why people take the matter into there own hands for sweet revenge when someone we love gets hurt!

There is so much unknown to the public about this case that no one can begin to imagine what they have had to deal with. They are daily being re-victimized by the ones that are sworn to serve and protect.

I lost my father @ the age of 17 as he too was murdered by his so called friend, but fortunately for us his killer was arrested 5 days later and sentenced to only 15 yrs. (served 7) for man slaughter >judges words were "The only other person than can tell what happened that day, his Eyes are closed. Sure my mother grieved while still comforting us children, but nothing took a toll on her as the day my brother died at the age of 36 with a heart attack! I can still to this day hear my mother cry and say> "A mother is not suppose to bury child"

Before you say a cruel word about theses parents for voicing the frustrations and lack of proper investigation/interrogations Just stop and count your blessing that it was not your child!

Most people will never ever know the pain, suffering and constant fighting the system that Tom and Lorraine have endured for the sake of justice to be served. Not only to the 4 deceased, but for a legal system and professionals that are sworn to uphold the law.

My hope for who ever did or has knowledge of this crime and don't report it will never have a moments rest. I don't even have sympathy for who ever did this but one day you will still before our Heavenly Father! Your day is coming. As Lorraine pointed out "Life is about,Choices", but with choices comes "consequences"

Tom and Lorraine, When I first met you several years ago I told you then "The system does not work for the righteous" Criminals have more rights than the victim.

I for one know you will "NEVER< EVER, EVER GIVE UP" You have a lot of true friends and wonderful family that supports you in every way. My prayer for you all is that someday soon you will have peace in your heart and soul!
Until then stay strong and do what you both do best> Keep on, keeping on until justice for Brian is served! From our framily to your's we love you both!

  84. Whew! You've really stirred the pudding, Pat. It all comes down to the 911 call for me. No way would anyone be that calm and unemotional. And that pesky word "apparently" cliches it for me. Think about stumbling onto a murder scene, or a traffic accident where there are bodies strewn about. Would you really call 911 and say, Apparently someone was shot, or apparently there was a car accident? No, you'd say, people have been shot, or people have been hurt, send help! And to stay at the crime scene?! Come on! I would have got back in my car/truck, locked the doors, and called from there. If I did not have my cell phone, I would have left and called elsewhere. An innocent person would have not known if the killer was still on the scene. The guilty person would have known they were safe to use an office phone.

  87. Pat if you didn't have a dog in this fight then why do we get your book on every blog? Negative publicity is better than no publicity?
I've done some of my onw research on the internet and found where Lorraine and Tom were taking Brian's widow to court. Wow! Talk about odd behavior! Do you think maybe that's why Lee told you he would have to talk to Brian's widow before speaking to you? Why would you take your daughter-in-law to court? So many layers to this onion.
Mr. Lee my advice to you is you have done everything that the police have asked of you, if that's not good enough for these people then that is THEIR PROBLEM. I think you have a very nice slander or defamation of character suit you should think about.

  88. There is NOTHING ODD about trying to get to see their grandsons. What IS ODD is a mother that will not let her children have a relationship with their grandparents. The Lucas' are the sweetest people that I know and I would trust them with my children with them ANY time. I'm sure if you took the time to peel away those layers to this onion you would not be condemning the Lucas' for their part in going to court. And, while you are at it and seem so close to the matter. Why don't you get off your butt and help keep this case out in the media as the Lucas' have. They seem to be the only ones who have done this.

  90. Pat Brown has done a good job of "finding all this information on the internet". However, I have not been able to find "on the internet" where Chris Sherbert. Would be very appreciative of any and all information "anyone wanting to remain anomyous" wants to provide. Actually, that is just the kind of information we've been talking about everyone. Somehow along the line everyone has "assumed that Pat Brown is saying Noel Lee did the shooting". Actually she is saying quite the opposite. ALL SHE IS SAYING IS RULE HIM OUT AS A SUSPECT. And what we Brian's parents have been saying is simply this "investigate all surviving spouses extensive, family members, make sure someone didn't have a conflict with "a friend or even family". The only way you can RULE SOMEONE OUT IS TO DELVE INTO THEIR PRIVATE PARTS OF THEIR LIVES. That has not been, we know that for a fact. Melissa was interrogated, followed and suspected for years. LAW ENFORCEMENT HAVE ALWAYS SAID , NO ONE IS CLEARED, UNTIL THIS CASE IS SOLVED. therefore, we are all suspects. We're open for interrogation, are you?

  95. When you loose a loved one to a violent crime, your life is forever changed. OPTIONS then become a big part of your life. Many choose to fight for justice and others simply look the other way, for whatever reasons that are personal to them. At some point the knowledge people are hiding, begin to take a toll on their body and soul. Literally it can eat you alive, emotionally and eventually physically. Brians father Tom and I have been married 41 years soon and have always been a strong couple. Our choice has always been to "make sure this case does not go unsolved". That was one reason Tom left his job and we relocated back here. Divine intervention is playing a large part in this case. We've put our TRUST that God will take care of things. We've had to learn PATIENCE..that's the hard one, but we have done it. God will provide, he has and he will. Amazing people, even more amazing resources have been brought to us. When we make friends in our life, they become lifetime friends... seriously they hold a special place in our heart and always will. When this case is solved, AND IT WILL BE SOLVED, we will have to accept whatever the reason that someone or people made their CHOICE TO COMMIT THIS CRIME.
What was so terribly wrong that they had to resort to this? I believe God is leading the people with the answers we need, to us. He has brought the people that have the skills, talent and even more so GUTS TO HELP SOLVE THIS CASE. it's not a COLD CASE, it will never be a COLD CASE and one day soon, it will be a SOLVED CASE. I trust that if you are someone who wants to step forward you may choose to do so. That is the very reason for CrimeStoppers, however those tips are turned over to LE. At this point alot of people have alot of DOUBT and a lack of confidence in law enforcement and question if they will "properly handle the information". The pieces of the puzzle are coming together. If you hold a piece of the puzzle, it could be just the one we need to tie it all together. We have a facebook page in the name of Brian Lucas, and my personal facebook page Lorraine Lucas. Private message me with a way to contact you and you have my word that I will do everything within my power to protect the information you provide. Make my day, become "today's angel" and I'll do everything I can to protect your identity. Take a leap of FAITH and do the right thing. I will look forward to talking to you soon. It's been 8 1/2 long years, we are still strong, together with all our family, a huge amount of friends from all walks of our life and WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP.....actions speak louder than words and we've been "WALKING OUR TALK"... have a great holiday weekend with your family. You never know when they may be ripped from your life prematurely. Thanks everyone for your support... LOVE NEVER DIES....

  96. been reading this blog and comments.
I've heard alot of things that suggest there is someone or people in the Sheriff Office that is covering up information, perhaps on the take, overlooking tips, not looking in right direction on purpose. Alan Wood has been involved since this happened. Why would he be flirting with Melissa Ponder on facebook. In fact she was going to see Alan Wood when she came to Spartanburg last year. She did see Alan Wood, he followed her from the Sheriff's Office I heard. Is this normal behavior that Sheriff Chuck Wright accepts from his staff. Sheriff Wright has been on the news alot the past few years. Right out there talking about the right to carry a firearm, actually telling everyone to get a gun and protect their family. Also talking about the system's not working folks. no shit it's not working, are we just now figuring it out? I've read about families Standing their ground about losing their family members to a person who shouldn't had access to a weapon. People were killed, someone's son, brother or father and they weren't prosecuted why? its called Standing Your Ground. Why hasn't Wright came back with a comment since he said "she read it on the internet. she didn't find anything we haven't had 10 times". You have to open your eyes to read. Why isn't he talking now? nothing to say now. Who is running his office now him or someone who works for him? maybe he doesn't know for sure, maybe he just doesn't want to admit that he's being negligent by allowing all this shit to go on for a very long time.

  98. Hearing the 911 caller, does anyone hear the plea for "emergency" >NO > Signs of deception!. Because the 911 caller already knew it was not an emergency > all 4 were dead. As he reported they are all apparently dead" Also, he had already been inside (even though the killer could still be in shop) and made the determination no Emergency was needed, as they were all laying in a pool of blood!

His whole demeanor was that of a complete idiot, Guilty or not where was his thinking. (In his pants thinking with his little head? As he was told by his girlfriend >don't leave the scene someone might have noticed him and - or- I had to see if others are inside as well! And placed the call from inside of using his cell phone that he had on him! Who shows this kind of behavior> Narcissistic, Psychotic or complete idiots >they do nothing wrong anyway!

Where and what the hell was a detective thinking! This should have been there number one suspect.

OH, and the last known person in the shop and seen them alive gave a composite drawing (Via Telephone call with an artist) that he was not happy about and 8 years later the new Sheriff has another composite drawing done. WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING when he reported "OH this is going to be our man of interest"

Eight (8) long and struggling years for the families to deal with why and who did this crime and it takes a criminal profiler to open the can of worms and give details of how the Sheriffs department has failed this case. And Sheriff Wright denies that the profiler had access and was reading all this off the Internet> Who the hell in the sheriffs department would have put findings on the internet ?

Yes we are all aware of Sheriff Wright inheriting this case, (he reminds everyone of that quit often) but he has showed lack of consideration to everyone through his own failures. Once he became aware of neglect on this case he should have done everything within his powers to correct and follow with any and all leads>first for failure to interrogate Noel Lee and witness that gave a shandy composite.

Now for Sheriff Wright to state a professional profiler don't know what she is talking about, just looking for a fame :(

If and when the public becomes aware of the latest allegations and the Sheriffs department (2 Sheriffs) to accurately investigate/interrogate the two prime suspects in a timely manner it is not going to be good. Someone mentioned Damage Control> nope time for change.

I am sure Sheriff Wright was made aware when he took office of how things had been squashed on this case. But, while on his tenure he and now detective Wm. Gary has not made any progress, in fact it is a "cold case".

Sheriff Wright ran on a platform to catch criminals and prosecute to the fullest. The department is catching thief's and drug addicts everyday, but there is to many cold cases involving severe violent crimes and need more man power. This is Sptbg Counties first and only quadruple homicide and 8 years later know closer in solving!

Now Sheriff Wright was recently promoted (based on his running the Sheriffs Dept. within budget limits) to being the Warden for the County Jail with a hugh salary increase and an over crowed jail. Did he not have enough responsibility at Sheriff trying manage a large staff of employees, trying to solve crimes that county council added more all for the sack of the almighty dollar. "Money Talks and Bullshit walks"

Sheriff Wright talked the talk for awhile!
Who Governs the Sheriffs Department anyway!

He has been asked many many times to invite the FBI/SLED and get this case solved. Is there corruption so bad in the dept. that he found (and has turned blind) that he don't want to bring it to life or what.

Sheriff Wright needs to be held accountably for his and his employees actions regarding the failure and neglect of properly handling this case. Back off and let a real profession do your job!

  100. Tom and I just finished doing The Roth Show, radio talkshow hosted by Dr. Laurie Roth. It should be posted by tomorrow on Brian's facebook page, or you can listen to it "tonight 11pm online".. click on the link on Brian's facebook page or google The Roth Show. It will be little enlightening to those of you who listen. Facts, true facts. We can honestly say we wouldn't wish "this nightmare on anyone", that losing your loved one is already more than most people can bare. However everything that you "encounter along the way to seeking justice is what I will refer to as "re-victimization". We the people, elect the Sheriff based on his "values and the platform he comes forward with". When someone looks me in the eyes and tells me "I will do everything possible to solve this crime"... I EXPECT THEM TO DO JUST THAT. 8 1/2 YEARS is way too long to keep doing the "same ole' shit (stuff). Kindly lay your PRIDE ASIDE AND DO THE RIGHT THING SHERIFF WRIGHT.... A crime such as Superbike Motorsports doesn't happen in a small city like Spartanburg, let alone Chesnee SC.
Use whatever resources you have available at your fingertips. AND YOU THAT ELECTED SHERIFF WRIGHT.... is this the way you would want your loved one's homicide (sorry nice word for MURDER)to be handled. By one detective sitting behind a desk working 49 COLD CASES IN SPARTANBURG SC, plus being called into "yesterday, today and tomorrow's violent crimes" TOO. TALK ABOUT MULTI-TASKING. One person can only do so much, and WHY SHOULD ONLY ONE PERSON BE OVERLOOKING THIS CASE? SLED, FBI, HOMELAND SECURITY, COLD CASE INVESTIGATIVE TEAMS ETC. when is enough enough?

God has given us the strength to endure these 8 1/2 years and much more heartache than you can ever imagine, not to mention just our "everday life and it's challenges in our 'new normal life' post a tragedy. I would like to end by quoting a man we were BLESSED TO HAVE MET 2 MONTHS AGO, JOHN WALSH.
HELP US SOLVE THIS CRIME AND GET THIS DIRT-BAG OFF THE STREET.... AMERICA CITIZENS... YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Be the answer to today's prayer. Send us a private message on Brian Lucas' facebook page, or contact me at lorraine5874@att.net personally anytime. Brian called me "mama" and Tom "Daddy" (with that little southern accent, even though he was born a yankee) and we want to make him as PROUD OF US AS WE ARE OF HIM. BRIAN LIVES ON AND SHOWS HIS PRESENCE EVERY DAY IN OUR LIVES.

  101. Lorraine and Tom. I am sure know one would ever want to walk in your shoes! Just the thoughts of an elected official, Sheriff Wright, not to take advantage and refuses resources is not a leader. This shows his weakness when he told yawl he would not invite SLED because of the man that WAS in charge that being Reggie Lloyd. Whats the excuse now, as Mr Lloyd is no longer in office.

Why would he hold his own personal judgement of a individual and leader of another (higher ranked) department and refuse to ask for assistance.

I can not blame you for being so outraged after reading Pat, Brown's post, hearing The Roth Show and learning of all the mistakes made on this case.

What does the Sheriff really expect you to think and feel. He may have inherited this case, but what the hell has he done going forward for how many years now> absolutely nothing! Cold case? He should be held accountable for his actions and lack of requesting assistance from SLED in a timely manner.

Is he so dam busy trying to be Sheriff and Warden of an over populated jail for the salary increase that he has lost touch with reality of what got him chosen as Sheriff in the first place?

The Roth Show had a contact number for people to call and fluid with questions and answers that need to be addressed regarding Sheriff Wright regarding this matter. I plan on doing just that and I will try and encourage everyone I know of to do the same.

We all have to answer to someone and it is time for him to start giving his lame excuse as to why he has failed this case!

Not so strange and has absolutely nothing to do with the crime. The evidence is clear.

  103. I just watched the documentary "serial killer: the devil unchained" about Tod Kolhepp who claims to be the killer. Here Noel Lee goes back to the Superbike store and tells his story. I noticed something else weird. He says about Scott's mother: "It looked like as is she had just come out of the bathroom". That is a weird assumption. Maybe she just went to the bathroom. Just saying.

  104. In addition to my previous comment, would it for someone who was is not the killer more likely to assume that she would run to the bathroom to hide? She must have heard the shots before she was killed. Only a mother who's son is in danger would come out of the bathroom rather than hide.
